about

Children of the Day is my culminating song. I came to realize that I was no longer a child of the night but of the day. I had also found “life”. As a child of the 60’s, I tried everything in life, wondering if there is hope. I was also a confirmed Jimi Hendrix aficionado, and I was struct by this phrase “There ain’t no life nowhere” from the Jimi Hendrix song “I Don’t Live Today”. However, I found that life in Christ and this verse in the Bible made that clear for me: Colossians 3:3 “For ye are died and your life is hid in Christ with God.” KJV.

lyrics

Verse 1:

We, the children of the day,
looking for a better way.
We have tried the roads both high and low
but they all seem to downward go.
Is there any hope?
Only God would know.

Verse 2:

We, the children of the day,
longing for a better way.
Some say that there is no life.
Well, we’ve found it and it’s hid in Christ.
Follow him and to heaven you will go.

Verse 3:

We are children of the day
looking for a better way.
We are chosen and we’ve overcome
by the blood of the Father’s son.
Listen closely and you too may see the way.

Verse 4:

We are children of the day
longing for a brighter way.
Some say that there is no life.
Well, we’ve found it and it’s hid in Christ.
Follow him and to heaven you will go.

Ending:

Follow Jesus, Oh oh
Follow Jesus, yeah oh oh
We’re all going to heaven, yeah.
We’re all going to heaven.
We’re all going to heaven, yeah.
We’re all going to heaven oh, oh.
Follow Jesus oh oh
Follow Jesus yeah oh
