about
Psalm 2 America is a warning and a plead to America to return to the values of the God of the Bible. It is based on Psalm 2 of the Old Testament which says:
Psalm 2 - King James Version
1. Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2. The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3. Let us break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us.
4. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.
12. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
In the past, Christian values shaped and informed many of Americas social policies. The verses of "Psalm 2 America" provide examples where America has gone astray from the values of the Bible. The final verse
is a prayer and a plead for America to come back to the values of the Bible and the affirmation of Jesus Christ as Lord.
lyrics
Verse 1:
Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel against the Lord and his anointed saying
Refrain:
Let us break their bonds asunder and cast away their cords from us.
Chorus:
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
Verse 2:
Senators and Congressmen making laws against the Father’s nature.
She’s a he and he’s a she. She’s a they. It’s all just confusion.
Silver and gold they worship it. Exalting pride and self-elevation.
Chorus:
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
Guitar Solo 1
Chorus:
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
Verse 3:
He that sits in heaven shall laugh and the Lord will have them in derision.
The time will come and they will see that mocking God will only bring destruction.
Refrain:
Let us break their bonds asunder and cast away their cords from us.
Chorus:
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
America, you’ve forgotten your Father.
America, you’ve forgotten your Father
Guitar Solo 2
Ending Prayer:
Father, we ask that you would have mercy on America.
That the truth of your word would bring the repentance of your children and salvation to the lost
That Christ will be elevated and mean and women would be drawn to you.
That your word would be honored as truth and bring wholeness and wellness to your people and America.
In Jesus name. Amen, Amen and Amen.
